Summer is definitely here. To keep things cool when conditions really heat up, heed this friendly reminder from Whirlpool consumer assistants: Take proper care of your window air conditioning units. Cleaning and regular maintenance of air conditioning units will help insure longer life and lower operating costs. Its important to follow all product manual instructions carefully. Its also a good idea to schedule an annual checkup from an authorized dealer or repair professional. Check the filter every two weeks to see ifit needs cleaning. A clean filter helps remove dust, lint and other particles from the air. Clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner or, in cases where it is extremely dirty, wash the filter with warm water and mild deit thoroughly tergent.
