Stampede queen contest set The Ute Stampede queen and her attendants will be selected this Saturday, May 28 at the fairgrounds arena, according to Leo Osborne, chairman of the queen contest. The contest will begin at 7 p.m. It was postponed from its earlier date because of weather conditions. The general public is invited to attend the contest, Osborne says. Nephi baseball team will play Manti Tuesday After a nearly laythe Nephi City Baseball 15-ye- off, Association has been revived. Boyd Howarth has been elected president and Steve Sperry has been elected vice president. Leo Osborne is the association treasurer and Gordon Kelson and Alan Sperry are directors. Boyd Park is the manager and coach. The Nephi City baseball team will compete in a league with Manti, Moroni and Ephraim and will play all games on Tuesday nights at 6:30. Their first home game will be on Tuesday, May 31 against Manti Although this is their first year in the league, the local ball team has many fine ballplayers and should be a top contender and provide fast baseball for those attending the games, officials say.
