Jan. 1, IN 1973 takes them 10 years to mature. Take another look. The old green Bond aint what, it used to be. Now Bonds mature in less than 6 years. Thats one reason Bonds are so popular nowadays. Theyre simple to buy, and one of the surest ways to build a nest egg for something (or someone) special. U.S. Savings Bonds. Maturity at 5 years, 10 months. If you dont want to use that money right away, theres a extension privilege. Either way, youll find that Bonds mature at just the right age for you. Tbke stock . mmenca. At Pirelli, weve developed a tire that solves this problem. The Cinturato CN-75- . is good for 40,000 miles, and The CN-7can take just as much punishment as any other steel belted radial. The difference lies in the way we put it together. Wc know that a tire cant ride smoothly if its belt is too stiff and rigid. So we found a way to make our steel belts more flexible. We use what we call Trac Steel What this means is that each of the 5 - Sfe . No matter which steel belted radials you buy, youll be getting tires that will probably last 40,000 miles. Tires that are tough enough to drive over nails and spikes. Tires that can even be driven over axe blades. And keep on going. But building a tire that can take all this punishment is easy. All it takes is steel. The hard part is putting something as rigid as steel into a tire in such a lmrai m CN'75s steel cords consists of 21 individual strands. More than any other tire uses. Once we found this new kind of steel cord, we discovered a new way of putting it into the tire. The result is a unique combination of Trac Steel 21 and rayon which provides all the strength and protection of steel without sacrificing a quiet comfortable ride. In developing a tire that will do all this, we discovered one more thing: Its very difficult to make. So we don t take any chances. Every single CN-7is completely inspected. Because we know if even the slightest thing is wrong with a steel belted radial, the effect it could have on your car will be more than slight. You'll probably get 40,000 miles out of any steel belted radial. But the kind of miles they turn out to be depends on which steel belted radials you decide to buy. 5 X-ra- y riij IHEELILD All the advantages of a steel belted radial without the disadvantages.
