The trek will be led by three veteran river runners: Gunnison District Chairman Arlo Jensen; Dr. LaMar Stewart, president of Gunnison Stake; and Miles Jensen, expedition leader. The trip will be the 13th which the district has hosted. Cost of the trip for boys 14 years of Unlage and over will be $50, and It Is imited to 48 boys. There are stUl some 20 vacancies. The trip fee Includes use of river equipment, life jackets, Insurance, transportation, meals and 80-mi- le o V a' C C Si t( P S n S' c p f. ti c s c Again, the cooperation and help of all property owners of Nephi is needed to remove all objects from city streets, such as unused vehicles, house trailers, camp trailers, animal trailers, farm machinery and implements, and all other objects that will interfere with the City street weed mowing operation. Last year, considerable hours were lost and many dollars spent caused by the mowers striking objects carelessly left in the street. The City Council thanks everyone that cooperates in our attempt to dress up our community. SHERWOOD, Mayor Boating Trip Scheduled; Several Openings Available Venturers and Explorers from this area of the Utah National Parks Council, Boy Scouts of America, have been Invited to participate in the annual Gunnison District River Run, according to Lloyd Hawkins, District Scout Executive at run will be from Nephi. Give Her A Lane Cedar Chesf Mt Nebo Chapter, Future Farmers of America, won additional honors In several contests last week at Snow College. The agricultural mechanics teams placed first and second in that area of competition. Three of the four members who participated in the state contest at Logan won the first place trophy. These were Kevin Stanley, Dennis Stuart and Ted Bosh teamed up Kent Wilkerson. with Brad Ballow and Dennis Worwood to form the second place winning team. All five individual awards went to the ML Nebo chapter. Kevin Stanley received a trophy for the first place individual award. Others received ribbons: Dennis Stuart, second; Brad Ballow, third; Ted Bosh, fourth and Dennis Worwood, fifth. The land judging teams placed second Individual awards received and third. were first, Don Jarrett; second, Mike Baxter and fourth, Tracy Olsen. Some of the members participated in the livestock judging contest and some participated in the range school.
