Bishop J. Barres Jenkins of the Nephi Third Ward conducted the services, and inter ment was directed by Anderson Funeral Home of Nephi. Mi'S. Carter was born Oct ober 20, 1883, a daughter of George and Esther James Canned Winn. She received her education in the Nephi schools. A member of the LDS church she was active in various organizations throughout her entire lifetime. Mi's. Carter was a talented singer and had given of her time and talent in church capacities, and at a great number of funerals. She was married to Thomas Edwin Carter July 10. 1900 in Nephi. He died in 1930. She married William Henry Carter Sept. 23, 1943 in Salt Lake City. He died in 1950. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Dona) Jones of Nephi, and three grandchildren. Worthington, chairman of the Juab County ASC committee announced today that the irrigation companies of the county are planning to take advantage of the money being made available under the Drought Emergency Program. The Nephi, Levan and Mona Irrigation companies are planning to line about nine miles of ditch and install ten large structures to save irrigation water. The total cost of this work will be about $60,000.00 and the county ASC committee have requested $28,790.00 of emergency funds to assist with this work. Engineering assistance is being furnished by the Soil Conservation Service thru the Juab Soil Conservation District. Mr. Worthington said a part of this work is already underway and that considerable work has been done on the project. Just east of Nephj about 7,000 lineal feet of lining and five division structures are being installed under the direction of Stellman Greenhalgh, project manager. This project alone will require a total of 430 cubic yards of concrete, and 4,000 cubic yards of earth will have to be moved to prepare the ditch foundation. Summer Band restrictions. Activities The summer band program of the Juab School District will get underway on Monday afternoon, according to an announcement made today by Royden G: Hill, director. The Junior band will meet on Monday and Thursday of each week at 6:45 p.m., and the Senior band at 7:45 p.m. at the Juab High school music room. Plans are to have both bands march in the Ute Stampede parades as well as the Senior band giving two concerts in the park and participating in the July 24th parade in Salt Lake City.
