Show Museum hosts Whitehorse High exhibit Leo Platero and his students from Whitehorse High School, will display their talents in the Special Exhibits Room at Edge of the Cedars State Park Museum from January 13- - March 30, 2000. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend a free opening reception at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Janu- ary 13. Sculpture, pottery, fabric art will be and painting on display. Leo Platero is the art teacher at Whitehorse High School, which is located in Montezuma Creek, Utah. Platero acts as a mentor to his students, encouraging them to try new forms of artistic expression. Unlike some professors, Leo did not stop producing art when he became a teacher. In fact, he is an accomplished painter who continues to experiment and grow along with his students. Edge of the Cedars is known for its outstanding collection of prehistoric Puebloan pottery, prehistoric ruin, and Sun Maker sculpture. The state parkmuseum is located at 660 West, 400 North, in Blanding. Winter hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. For more information, contact the museum at 435-678-223- Broncos drop game to Badgers The San Juan Bronco basketball team fell to a surprisingly tough Wayne Badger squad on December 22 in Blanding. The Broncos, who played their fourth overtime game of the young season, were unable to keep up with the Badgers and fell by a single point. Bronco Travis Shumway was at the free throw line as time expired with the chance to extend play to a second overtime. However, the freethrows did not fall and San Juan fell. The Broncos were led by John Tate, who scored 23. 8. Monticello - Utah Breakfast Burritos Bucks drop home opener, The Monticello Buckaroo fourth basketball team returned from six straight road games to host the Juab Wasps December 22. Despite a heroic effort by Jacob Hout, Monticello was unable to keep up with the Wasps and fell 59-4Hout led all scorers with 26.
