Town hasn't changed much , lately Dear Editor: I have lived here 24 years and this town hasnt changed much, lately. They change the rules about you cant have nothing but a doublewide on your property. That made it bad for people who have singlewides. And every good doctor, they were run out of town. My Dr. Penn had a home here, but he couldnt have his horse. But across the street from our rental property there are 23 horses there. But I guess its who you know and like if they stay there or not. If youre going to make changes, make them for all. Down my street the light company came and cut down three beautiful trees. Before, they just trimmed them. Now I have people leaving trash, walking through your property, looking in your cars. And my fence was cut down, beautiful plants and trees run over and now we are having an insurance in Alabama stalling. I cant let my dog out because of it. I never let my dog.out and bother other people. There are so many people that are mean to animals. I love them all, and those that do so when they die, the Lord puts them where he sees fit. My husband bought this land 60 years ago and little by little. Just like the whites did the Indians, saying it belonged to the City. There is hardly a cafe open on Sunday; a lot of people want this town to stay little so they can go somewhere big over the weekend. I hope things get better. I plant trees to make the ozone hole little and the light company cuts them down to make it bigger. Alice Adams SAN9UANJHEATE sn - Page 2 Health care entities should combine resources Dear Editor: I read with great interest and concern your lead article of October 20 regarding the Blanding Medical Center. I, like the other citizens of the county, am tired of all the promises with no results toward better medical facilities and resources. Please allow me to make some suggestions that to me seem logical. If the two entities together have an estimated $17 million, why not combine resources and get this project on the road to completion? They could build a full service hospital that would meet the needs of the county for years to come. Why not rebuild and update the current hospital in Monticello as the location and building are already in place, and build a satellite facility in Blanding, or build the main hospital in Blanding, with the hospital in Monticello as the satellite. The private investors would become stockholders in the facilities with San Juan Health Care managing and operating it. An annual meeting of stockholders would mean profits and proper operation would be paramount. I am sure San Juan Health Care Services would gladly step out of the picture or be the primary en- tity if needed to get results, but lets get together and get this hospital built before we have a disaster which the current system can not handle. That is probably not the situation. Blanding City is able to purchase wholesale power cheaper because of their ability to shop around.
