THE SAN JUAN RECORD Wednesday, March 3, 1999 - Page 3 Belly dancing and more in Bluff by Freda Aron Exotic dancing, earthy poetry, the best of all worlds, in Bluff? Yes, it was so recently at Comb Ridge Trading Company. It was a full house and a very pleased audience. The males were probably titillated by the Belly Dancer and the tiny diamond chain hanging from her belly button. The women were probably thinking, If I could undulate like that daily, Id never have to worry about dieting anymore. Our dancer, Sarah Caldiero, a young, lovely girl, is authen tic. Her mother is from Tur- key and taught her all the proper moves. Her father, Alex Caldiero, is to poetry what Jerry Seinfeld is to comedy. One (Jerry) makes mountains out of molehills for his humor, the other (Alex) uses words with color, passion and depth to evoke images that connect and touch No us. pretentious words and but meanderings, we all have and know feelings well. And there is humor, get into bed and just at your most com fortable position, ready for instant sleep, when you remember . . . forgot to brush your teeth, turn off the light, lock the door. Will that perfect moment come again soon? Not likely. At first it seemed like a strange combination, Belly Dancing and Poetry, but it worked and worked very well. No one was disappointed.
