Barela has arrived for duty in Tonawanda, New York. Barela is a recruiter assigned to the Buffalo Company, Syracuse Recruiting Battalion. Izzy is the son of Isauro Y. and Delight J. Barela of Monticello. The sergeant is a 1985 graduate of Monticello High School. Seaman Recruit Darren P. Goodloe, son of Jeff Brown and Shelly Navy Ketron, both of Monticello, recently completed U. S. Navy Recruit basic-trainin- at g Training Com- mand, Great Lakes, Illiois. During the eight-wee- k program, Goodloe received instruction on the Navys core values honor, courage and commitment -and how to apply them in their military performance and personal conduct. Goodloe joins 55,000 men and women who will enter the Navy this year. He is a 1997 graduate of Monticello High School. Air Force Staff Sgt. Jerry Fireman Apprenticeship Program. D. Sallee has been named noncommissioned officer of the quarter. Sallee is a combat crew training squadron evaluator loadmaster assigned to the 56th Airlift Squadron at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma. He is the son of Carol J. Sallee of Monticello. The sergeant graduated in 1978 from Monticello High School, and received an associate degree in 1997 from the Community College of the Air Force. OBerry of Monticello, The Steering Committee Demonstration Area has been selected. The group will be responsible for im- plementing livestock changes in the Elk Ridge Comb Wash area..
