Raymond was born to Glen and Zelpha Schear on April 28, 1935 in Binger, Oklahoma. He had four brothers and three sisters. Raymond was united in marriage to Lois Nadine Merz on June 1, 1954, in Dove Creek, Colorado. Five children were born to this marriage. They made their home in the Squaw Point area, where Raymond made his living mining in the winter and farming in the summer. They remained there until December, 1991 when they moved to Cortez. Preceding Raymond in death are his mother, Zelpha Schear; father, Glen Schear; and brothers, Keith and Johnny Schear. Surviving are his wife Nadine; children Tommy, Debbie, James, Linda, and Julie, who gave him nine grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Delbert and Eldon Schear and three sisters, Zelda Bucher, Betty Gaines, and Carol Strode. Interment is in the Dove Creek Cemetery. - (fr Jensen Orthodontics Alan C.
