RECORD, Wednesday March 7, 1990 Page 6 Wilderness conference to focus on 'legacy' of Edward Abbey .The legacy of Edward Abbey and his famed Monkeywrench Gang will be the topic of a workshop at the third annual National Wilderness Conference. The conference is sched4 in Salt uled for March Lake City. The workshop will focus on the impact of Abbeys ideas on 22-2- vandalism to prove their the preservationist movement throughout the country. The book Abbey wrote in the 1970's has proved to be a source of inspiration for preservation-minde- d vandals who are attempting to force wilderness upon the United States public, says Grant Gerber, president of Wilderness Impact Research Cholesterol screening The Southeastern Utah District Health Department will hold two cholesterol screening clinics on Thursday, March 15. These are .walk-iclinics and there is a $7 fee. The first clinic will be held in Blanding at the North Chapel n from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The second clinic will be held in Monticello from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Public Health Office in the basement of the courthouse.
