The first priority should be the road between Oljato and Navajo Mountain, Black said. Other projects would be the improvement of roads in a road from Elk Ridge to Natural Bridges and the Maverick dugway; upgrading the Blue Mountain loop road between Blanding and Monticello; and, development of a Kigalia scenic way. The scenic way includes roads through Canyonlands to Beef Basin and on to Salt Creek Mesa and the Dugout ranch. Development and improvement of most of these roads will require the cooperation of the U.S. Forest Service and the Hatch; roads in the Aneth area; and expansion of Edge of the Cedars Museum. In other business, a request from Commissioner Mark Mary-bo- y for space for the San Juan Historical Commission resulted in agreement to locate the commission in the courthouse. A public hearing will be scheduled (probably in Bluff) before a decision is made. State Representative David Adams met with commissioners and offered his assistance in the following area: establishment of a Headstart facility at Mail early The U.S. Postal Service is cooperating with the business communities in San Juan County in urging customers to shop early and mail early for the holidays. The postmasters in our area are asking holiday shoppers to mail early this year and to make certain that mail is addressed correctly (including zip codes), and that packages are wrapped correctly so that cards and parcels reach their destinations in plenty of time for the holidays. They also stated, We in the Post Service take pride in carrying your messages of love and joy. Mailing early helps us deliver the messages on time. Steve Cannon, Bluff post- master, suggests that customers take care to write legible zip coded addresses for both the address and the return address. If you need packing advise or zip code information, call your local post office. The key to successful holiday mailing is to mail early and correctly.
