THE SAN 'JUAN RECORD Wednesday March 9, 1988 EVERETT ROBINETT Everett Jasper Robinett passed away February 17, 1988 at the San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington, New Mexico after an extended illness. He was bom February 17, 1916 in Nucla, Colorado to Gertrude Lauderback and Jasper Newton Robinett. When he was four months old, his parents moved to a homestead northeast of Dove Creek. As a young boy, he spent much of his time with his brother Jim and his wife, Rachel, whom he loved and thought of as a mother. He also lived in the Disappointment area with his sister Rosa. Everett returned to Dove Creek in 1940 where he met Rowena Good. They were married in Price, Utah on November 16, 1940. During world War II he served in the Berlin area. He had a variety of jobs during his working career including mining, truck driving, heavy equipment operation and mechanics. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Everett was always available for community service. He was a charter member of VFW Post 5181, he helped organize the first boy scout troop in Dove Creek, was instrumental in obtaining Dove Creeks first ambulance, and served 20 years with the volunteer fire department. He was always willing to assist anyone in need and his unselfish nature will be missed by all. He was a good provider and a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
