Show THE SAN JUAN RECORD Wechesday The rains of the past week were much needed in this part of the county and have really perked up the lawns, flowers and gardens. We all welcome John and Colleen Shinkle and son, Zack, who moved here from the Salt Lake area. Colleens mother, Beth Wright, is especially happy that the family is here. The Shinkles have purchased the house just west of Devon Hurst. Welcome to Blanding folks. The Senior Citizen ride on Tuesday, with driver Morris Swenson, was to Bluff, Montezuma Creek and Aneth, then back home over the lower road. There were indications of heavy rain everywhere and the former dry places were green with puddles of water everywhere. I received a nice surprise last September 2, 1987 - Rage 10 Wednesday: a telephone call from May Biggs, former Blanding resident. She is visiting her daughter, Hazel Dawn and family in Provo, but spends part of her time with daughter Rhonda in Farmington, Utah. May keeps busy as usual and right now she is writing some family history. Help us grow this grass is a far more effective sign than Keep off the grass. A ladies group from Fourth Ward went to Cedar City last Thursday to attend the Shakespeare Festival. Maggie Harvey and Maureen Beeson were among those going. Judy Kiddle, who has been attending school in Cedar City, was visiting her mother here on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week. Several people have remarked that they had to put an extra cover on the bed after the big rain on Tuesday unusual for August. Post Office space at Bluff The U.S. Postal Service is conducting preliminary studies to determine future post office space needs in Bluff, according to Dennis J. Yuhl of the Postal Service. The studies will include investigation of various alternatives, including the use of the present facility, other existing buildings and sites for new construction. In a letter to San Juan County Commissioner Calvin Black, postal management asked for community suggestions and offered to meet with Dandy design The term dandy doesnt always refer to a fashion-consciou- s gentlec Georgia-Pacifito man, according Corp. In papermaking, a dandy is a skeleton cylinder covered with a woven wire cloth that marks a paper sheet with designs. The arrangement of the wires determines the wove or laid effect of the sheet.
