The KUTA 79ers were forced to forfeit their first game after an airline mistake in Salt Lake City prevented a key player from arriving on time. With several reserve players arriving in time for the second game, the team was able to win all their games in the consolation bracket. The 79ers then played for the championship against an undefeated team sponsored by Turner The In and Ron Greg Buffington.
