Show THE SAN JUAN RECORD Thursday June 18, 1981 - Page 14 Stanley Lyman. Melvin, a Blanding native, graduated from San Juan High where he was prominent in sports and music. Bishop and Mrs. Richard Pin-coand children drove to Burley, Idaho, June 8 to attend a reunion with his family at the Russell Pincock farm. On the way home, the Pincocks stopped in Smithfield, Utah to see her brother, Ramon Black, and then they went on to Salt Lake to see the zoo, Lagoon, and Temple Square. Francis Jones came home last week after graduating from the College of Eastern Utah in Price with high honors. Francis graduated from San Juan High and filled a mission for his church. He is the son of Mrs. Merlan and the late Keith Jones. He returned to his job in Price Monday. The Seventies Fellowship activity was a huge success with over 40 people attending. Guest speaker was Bill Redd and those who helped with the workshops were Kent and Cecilia Tibbetts, Bob Gwilliams, Steve and Janet Wilcox and Theda Harris. There was bread with homemade jam and milk for ck I By Florence Galbraith The high temperature last week on Wednesday was at 92 degrees and the low was on this past Sunday night at 43 degrees. When we hear of the floods and landslides which other communities are experiencing, it makes us happy to be living in good old dry San Juan. Ada Rigby spent the past ten days visiting Marilyn and Grant Shumway in Phoenix. One of the highlights of her trip was going to Mesa to see the beautiful temple and surrounding landscaped are grounds. The Shumways B landing natives and Grant was the first ward bishop here. The Shumways daughters are happily married now with children of their own. Mary Ann and her husband and four girls live in Phoenix and Gayle and her husband and little boy live in Provo. Son Mark is busy helping his father in their car remodeling business. They buy older autos and the parts, and make the cars look like new. This was Grants hobby even back when he lived in Blanding. The Melvin Petersons from Nevada made an overnight visit here to his sister, Ruth, and husband, old-fashio- ned refreshments. The Linda and Dean Roberts family have moved to Grants, New Mexico. Linda taught kindergarten here and has been a past PTA president. Dean was employed by Energy Fuels and he is now employed by Anaconda. Their friends and ward members will miss them. Remember, this is the last week for gathering the Fun and Fit- ness coupons for playground equipment, so please, put them in the box at Blanding Merc or take them to Janet Wilcox. Edward and Judy Lyman and baby have been here for the past week from Mesa. Now Ed has gone back home and Judy and baby have gone to Oak City, Utah, for a few weeks to visit her The Geneva Laws Memorial Plaque made by a Blanding native, Taylor Palmer, of Emmet, Idaho, has been received. It will be presented to the Albert Lyman Elementary School soon. Contributions for the plaque are still being accepted by Janet Wilcox or Elaine Johnson. This memorial is being sponsored by Genevas close friends and the elementary PTA. Guests were Bell Poole Dock-ho- lt, Ila Nielson Sundwall, Helena Nielson Gabbart, Nina Rogers Chappell and Casse Lyman Mon-so- n. The main topic of conver -sation was the question, Who At any rate says we're old? San at Juan High, the fun the days as they were remembered were both tender and hilarious.
