After two weeks of play Southern Utah Industries is in first place with a spotless 0 record. They are followed by four other teams that hold 1 records. The league has five teams from Blanding, two from White Mesa, two from Montezuma Creek, and one from Bluff. The Pinto league outlook is for a competitive season, with every team having a good chance to win. Marc MacCauley, Troy Ketron and Mark Jensen, of MHS, and Paul Raymond, of San Juan High, will play in the 1 p.m. football game on Saturday, June 20, also at Hillcrest High. Jerry Cochran of Blanding was also invited to play on the football team, but due to prior committments, could not do so. John Dowell, football coach at MHS, will be one of the coaches for the MS South Football team. on There are nine womens teams playing softball this summer. The teams have only played twice so far but the league looks evenly matched because seven of the nine teams have won at least one game. Director Boe Clark reports that games are played every Monday and Wednesday. Eight teams make up the little league this year. After five games played, First Security and San Juan Theatre boast 5- -0 Redds golf tourney winners and Monticello 5-- double-eliminati- 1- -A graduates Mark Jensen and Reed Freestone will play on the South top five teams evenly matched.
