Show THE SAN JUAN RECORD, Thursday, July 10, 1980 0 b, Florence Galbraith Dee and Melba Black have just returned from a delightful visit with their children in Brigham City. While there the family got together for a reunion at the home of their son, Da Royce, and his wife Pat, on the weekend of June 27. The Blacks' son Albert and family came from Fresno, California. Their daughter, Ru Nae Steele, and her son Robert came from Kennewick, Washington, as did their grandson, Keith Bartell. The Blacks' daughter Lillian Brown and her son David Bartell and family and Boyd Steele came from Salt Lake. Son Grant and family came from Ogden, and several grandchildren attended from Brigham City. There were 31 members in all who attended the festivities. They had a lovely dinner and enjoyed visiting together. At church on Sunday we saw many visitors who came for the long holiday weekend. those we saw were George Black from Salt Lake; Janet and Calvin Hunt and children from Logan, Jimmy Hacking and family from the Salt Lake area, Idonna and Bill Cook from up north. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Galbraith of Provo were here over the weekend. On Thursday and Friday they attended A-m- ong Sams 10th anniversary class reunion. He graduated from 3JH with his classmates in 1970. Claude and Elaine Robbins of Logan were here several days this past week visiting friends and seeing the gorgeous sights of San Juan. Claude and Elaine came here with their daughter and husband, who drove up from Tuc- son, Arizona, with their three children. They went up to Logan and picked them up to visit here. Claude taught school and seminary here many years ago. Ha is a gifted singer and Elaine is a the piano. specialist on Elaine graduated and received her Ph. D. several years after their family was raised. Their friends here were happy to see them. Ken and Kora Helquist of Orem came to celebrate 4th of July weekend. the Their children and most of their grandchildren came also. They all got together . at Kens and Koras house here for visiting and good Helquists came from Orem to attend the Nielson family reunion Safood. 10 have had as house guests the past few days a number of her family members, including her dad and. mom. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Johnson had a weeks visit from their daughter, Carol Richmond and her three children from Salt Lake. They came to enjoy the 4th of July festivities. The Johnsons son Keith had a weekend visit from his girl friend, Dana Williams, of St. and the Johnsons George, son Gordon had a visit from his girl friend, Jane Kensen, who lives in Salt Lake. The Johnsons daughter Marilyn and her husband, Roger Low, and little son came over from Monticello to join the group and stayed overnight. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Black have gone to Italy to meet their son, Norman, who has been released from serving a mission in those parts. They will see . some of the beautiful sights there before Altogether there were 33 family members who enjoyed the Lymans hospitality. Remember those of you who want your reunions reported in this column just call me each week before my Monday noon deadline or bring your items to me. Remember, I cant include it in unless I know my column about it. The A. and Bernice Helquists were happy to have their children home for the big holiday. Brent and Jerry and children came from Round Up, Wyoming; 'Clyde and his wife came from the Mesa area; Kirk and his wife and children came over from Monticello, and Karen and John Dufur live here. They really enjoyed their moms good food. Mrs. Beppy Gibbons has been appointed as a national of the committeewoman Republican party and has ljeen invited to go to Detroit, Michigan, to attend the national convention. We wish her a lot of success. Mr. and Mrs. Craig Redd have enjoyed a visit from her mother, Mrs. Thelma Evans, from Orem, the past week. The Redds were joined here the latter part of the week by Alices sister and her husAnn and Don band, and six children, of returning homo. It will be interesting to hear Normans mission report when they return home. 30 we had .02 of an inch of rain and July 1 we had .01 of an inch. This is the first rain we have had since May 17. Sure has been a dry summer thus far. Mrs. Susan Butt enjoyed a visit from her children who came from out of town. They Orem, who stayed three days. While here they attended the festivities and saw our beautiful sights. On Saturday evening they were tained at a family gathering with dinner at the home of Truman and Ada Rigby with co - hosts Dannis and Asenath Guymon. were Richard and Sharon and Smith from Layton, and Sharidean granddaughter husband Kevin Flynt and baby from Mesa. These folks enjoyed the weekend festivities hare and attended the dedication of the park honoring their grandfather Lyman. Dannis prepared barbecued roast baef lovely and a pot of his beans for which he is famous. Thirty relatives attended the dinner. Bart and Venice Lyman had their out - of - town chil- their children, Marcia Hunt, and her son Mitch and his . family. On their way home they visited maqy church historical sights which were most interesting.
