The dickens of it is that when I began to look I that time, it wasnt for there, and I simply could not find out where it had gone and I am still looking for it and have come to the conclusion that it exists only for those who have done so much, there is nothing left for them to do. At any rate, when I was in San Juan for the Fourth, I didnt see people I longed to see nor do a hundred things I was anxious to do, all because time was smashed into a thin line I had to walk. However, what I could do and those I did have the opportunity of seeing were wonderful and most gratifying. I saw the memorable pageant and the parade in Blan-di- ng and visited the show at the airport. Im sure that if I had had the opportunity to see such a show when I was a kid, its wonderful enchantment would have been more than I could have endured and I would have expired with sighs of absolute delight. I watched the children there, and while they were happy to be there, especially when the candy plane flew over, it was not the great thrill to them it might have been if they were seeing held in Detroit, Michigan, on July 9. Part of her duties as committeewoman include helping At the to talk to him. I will never forget the delight I knew as a little girl when he and his brothers would sing. They sang for the joy of singing and didnt wait for a special occasion to use their spendid talent. Monticello has grown and changed so much and is changing all the time until I could get lost there trying to find places I once knew. Some of the old houses I knew have been remodeled and updated to the point where I had a hard time to know them and some of the others that I thought were really something big and lovely, are just the same but seem to have shrunk and look small and neglected as places do after a long time. I missed the old store that stood on the corner for so many years, and I missed other places that have been torn down to make room for progress. But mostI missed people who ly, once lived there and who were the friends of my parents. I hate to dwell in the past, but my idea of Heaven would be to know once more all the dear people I knew in early San Juan and to be able to visit and talk with them., thrill I wonder if they would reme and will there member be time in that place to visit friends and do some of those things we thought we would do when we were little kids in our native lands? 14-1- to plan the national conventions and assisting in the writing of the party platform.
