Jones, prelude and postlude music by Dora Heiner, opening prayer by Jim Harvey. A male quartet sang. Life history was by Leon Jones; Bruce Stevens spoke; organ solo, Ila Harvey; speaker, Jeff Jones; speaker, Kent Jones; Darwin Jones sang a vocal solo, closing remarks by Bishop Harris, closing prayer, Kuman Jones. Graveside hymn was by the male quartet which included the original group he had sung with, with Glen Jones in Reid's place. The grave was dedicated by Thane Heiner. Interment was in the Blanding city cemetery. Reid William Jones was born March 3, 1933, in Blanding, the 11th child of a family of 13 children born to Marvin Willard and Mary Ann Palmer Jones. He enlisted during the Korean war and served four years in the Army. Reid was very musically gifted. He played the piano, trombone, and had a beautiful singing voice. He loved to sing and he sang at many entertainments and at school functions. He was very active in chorus and drama in school and played the lead in the plays, "David Copper-fiel- d" and "Rip Van Winkand other plays in all of which he excelled. Reid sang in a boys quartet which also included Nelson Jones, Ted Jones and Ramon le" VV V Richs ftu&h Reid WiUiam Jones Black, for three years. Many people wiU remember that quartet and how much in demand they were. They were called the Sagebrush Quartet. Honey Dew Melons Z..99C Green Onions & Radishes 219p He died of cardiac arrest June 7 at the age of 46. He had just sat down in his easy chair to rest a bit while his two boys attended a show. When they came home he was still sitting m the chair with his eyes closed and the boys thought he was asleep so they went on to bed so as not to awaken him. Next morning when they got up he was still sitting in his chair and hadn't moved. Reid is survived by the two sons, Clyde U, and Robby 10; his mother, Mary Ann Jones, two sisters, Ila Harvey and Dora Heiner, and four brothers, WendeU, Darwin, Leon and Larry. |
