Three of the quilts shown in the picture were made by the Blanding women, a project which took a full month to complete. Helping on the quilts were Lucile Black, Oaine Foy, Nellene Jones, Marge Lyman, Myrtle Redd, Mabel Shumway, Beth Wright, Bretta Bradford, Frieda Jeanne Jackie Hunt, Redd, Neta Young, Hunt, Charlotte Nugent, Rose Gibbons, Esther Shumway, Nora Nielson, Maxine Nielson, Nielson, MaryAnn Beppy Gibbons and several others. Helping with the design and legal work involved were Claude Nugent andDe Gibbons. The third quilt the ladies made will be used for a fundraising item for the newly-organiz- ed Bicentennial foundation. Mrs. Gibbons left Wednesday afternoon to attend the Western State Republican Convention in Portland, Oregon October 2,3 and 4 where Ronald Reagan will be a featured speaker. She will also be in charge of a booth and will sell another of the quilts there. The water report indicated that additional improvements would be needed for the distribution system which includes a line east of the knoll running down to Second East, as well as the installation of new gate valves and pressure control valves. Twelve additional fire hydrants were recommended with the total water improvement project estimated at about $116,500. This would also include tunnel repairs at the south portal of the Indian Creek tunnel. N ielson stated it would be after 1978 that this par- ticular project would be begun.
