He was working with his crew at Butler Wash where the road had suffered serious damage, due to recent rains. Lynn was near a washed-o- ut area, working by a culvert, when a mass of wet sand collapsed, causing him to fall and burying him instantly. Palmer, Orem; Alma Palmer, Clint Palmer of Blanding, and Glen Palmer of Bluff. His sisters are Lucille P. Wright, Clessa P. Black, Myrtle P. Hunt, Mexican Hat, Phebe Ekstedt and Betty Skinner of Blanding. James Lynn Palmer was born February 5, 1918 in Blanding, Utah, a son of William Zemira and Rebecca He spent Stevens Palmer. his lifetime in the Blanding area. He idolized his father and spent many of his young years working with him at the ranch in Long Canyon, meat frozen foods river, Arizona; 8 oz. 690 driv- ing a team and wagon, harvesting crops, and anything else his Dad would let him do. Lynn developed many valuable traits while in his youth that he exemplified throughout his life. He attended the Old Elementary School. In was active in high school he sports and was on the basketball team. Even though he was small in stature, he was 'tall in character and ability. He won many honors in javelin throw, broad jump, high jump and races. He always did his best in everything he set out to do. Lynn left school in the 10th grade to work on various road jobs. They were married May 25, 1937, in the Salt Lake Temple. They shared a beautiful life together, setting a great example for their children and associates. During their 38 years of married life they have built many cherished memories for their family. Lynn Palmer has always been a dependable man, both in his Church and road duties. He never expected anyone to do anything he wouldnt be willing to do himself. He had a wonderful, patient way with people, and he devoted his life to seeing that others were He worked for the happy. State and County Road Departments for nearly 30 years and would have retired in April to spend time on his ranch and with his animals that he dearly loved. He will greatly be missed by his family, especially by his grandchildren, who always knew their Grandpa had time for them, regardless of his many other activities. At the time of his death he was active as a High Priest in the Blanding First Ward. Funeral services for James Lynn Palmer were heldSatur-da- y July 19, 1975, at 1 p.m. at the Blanding LDS Chapel.
