Show Many (Roads Still Closed Monticello District Ranger Roy Verner reports that certain roads in the Monticello District of the Manti -- LaSal National Forest have been temporarily closed to motor vehicular travel. The clos- ures are necessary to pre- vent road damage from vehicles on soft roadbeds and to protect the general public from hazardous road conditions created by flood damage last fall. Ranger Verner advises that contracts have been prepared and bids are now being solicited for heavy equipment to repair the flood damage. A Cooperative Agreement has also been completed with San Juan County to repair flood damage at the North Creek crossing on the Mountain Loop Road west of Monticello. Solicit Ideas On Bluff Road The public is invited to attend an informational meeting scheduled by the Utah State Department of Highways to discuss umprovements on the section of U.S. Highway 163 from Butler Wash south of Bluff, through Bluff, to the top of Cow Canyon north of Bluff. Improvements are consider ed necessary but no definite plans have been made. The Highway Department is soliciting suggestions which would help engineers make a decision which will meet the needs of the community and the individual.
