Show Dr. and Mrs. Wesley L. Bayles have been here the past few days visiting friends Old Mexico. He died in January, 1961. She was a mem- ber of the LDS Church and worked in the Relief Society. Survivors are sons and daughters - Laurence , of Blanding, Rolla of Richmond, Utah, FLOREKCE Word has been received here by relatives that Ada Helquist Stowell, 76, of Rigby, Idaho, died May 12 in an Idaho Falls hospital of a heart attack. She was born September 14, 1893 in Koosharem, Piute County, Utah to Charles and Lillian Hatch Helquist. She married Eugene David Stowell on March 8, 1917 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a member of the LDS church. She served as a primary president, and was a Stake Relief Society worker and a member of the Rigby study club and self culture club. Orson and Mrs. Cecil (Edna) Kent, both of Lewiston, Mrs. Merle (Iola) Kent of Ferndale, Washington, Harvey, of Tooele, Mrs. James (Phyllis) Brown of Salt Lake, Mrs. La Veil (Edith) Frandsen, of Emmett, Idaho, and 60 grand- outdoors without a coat. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wright were Mother's Day dinner guests at the home of their daughter, La Vae and husband, Lyman Redd. Mrs. Florence Johnson underwent major surgery at the hospital in Monticello the first of the week. We wish her a speedy recovery. Mr. Edmond Galbraith is expecting to undergo major surgery in Utah Valley Hospital at Provo on Monday. It is hoped he'll soon be feeling 157 7 great children, great-grandchildr- -- en, great -g- randchildren, brothers and sisters, Guy of Mesa, Arizona, Ralph of Salt Lake City, Frank of Manti, Mrs. John (Sarah) Jones of Mesa, Arizona, and Mrs. Ada Reed of Arlington, Virginia. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 p. m. at the Lewiston First and Fourth Ward Chapel. Burial will be in the Lewiston City Cemetery beside her husband. Several carloads of relatives went to attend the services. Her son, Lawrence Hawkins, and family live here and she lived here many years ago. better. Mrs. Julia Hurst Hawkins died in a Logan rest home on May 14 of natural causes. They live in Salt Lake. His brother, Lyman, has had them out each day riding .horses and taking them over jeep trails and they are surely enjoying our rugged country. Dr. Bayles is a brother of Lyman and Grant L. Bayles and was born and raised here. Mrs. Lyman Bayles has just returned from a two weeks' visit with her mother, Mrs. Josephine Gravelle and two sisters, Rose Mary and Ramona, who live in Sells, Arizona, near the Papago Indian Reservation - not far from Tucson. The Gravelles lived here years ago. The Devonza ladies club was entertained with a breakfast last Thursday morning at 9 a. m. at the home of Nora Nielson with Lydia Redd as Waffles, ham, eggs, syrup and fruit cup were on the menu. The Adriel Normans from Salt Lake spent the past week here visiting Mrs. Norman's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Edson Black. During the depression years, Mr. Norman taught school at La Sal. Mr. Norman is a retired chemist from Kennicott Copper. Mrs. Norman is the former Vera Oliver and used to live here, and she is also a sister of Mrs. Alice Shumway of Blanding. Stake Conference of the San Juan Stake LDS Church were held in Monticello LDS Ward Chapel last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Loren Hawkins drove to Salt Lake on Friday. They returned the first of the week. Gordon Grover has been work-ing almost night and day late ly, besides attending his school classes.
