Robert Anderson, Chairman of the Central Committee. The convention will elect, membership of the Central Committee and nine delegates to the State organization convention to be held in Salt Lake City May 17. The project calls for the construction of the first portion of the circulatory roads, a generator and chlorinator building, two comfort stations and the utility extensions. The bids for thes project will be opened at 2:00 PM, April 24, 1969 at the office of the Regional Director, Southwest Region, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Interested bidders can receive specifications, plans, bidding documents and other general information from the Regional Director, Southwest Region, National Park Service, P. O. Box 728, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87501. 10 Senator Frank E. Moss announced Tuesday payment of $178, 961. 00 to the San Juan Comity School District from the Office of Education, Department of Health, Education & Welfare. The money is made available under public law which provides financial assistance to School Districts where Federal facilities cause an increase in school enrollment. The money will be received by the School District "within a week or so" according to Peter P. Muirhead, Acting U. S. Commissioner of Education. A larger amount, $188,381 was listed by Commissioner Muirhead as the tentative en- titlement for San Juan. Today' payment is included in that amount. Further payments will be subject to adjustments as may be required by actual data in place of enrollment estimates and by the availability of funds. This discussion is preliminary to a more formal meeting later in the month in which it is hoped to develop a coordinated San Juan and Grand County approach that will be satisfactory to the State Highway Department for the purposes of interstate negotiation. The Commissioners discussed road development programs in the area East of Monticello with a delegation of 12 from the area. They also reached an agreement with the State Forester by which the Forester would match $900 of County money to provide a full time 5 month employee to work on fire control problems. The State will provide equipment and the County will maintain it under the agreement. The Commissioners also awarded a culvert bid to Armco Corporation. But there is one type of entertainment that the WHOLE family will enjoy and that is the University of Utah Men's Chorus which is coming to Monticello on April 17. The Chorus will appear at the Monticello High School Auditorium on that date and will start their performance at 8:00 p. m. that evening. Tickets for the event are now on sale and will be sold at the door. The price of this solid entertainment is $1. 00 for adults, 75t for students and 25$ for children.
