Miss Tahbo to wed An open house was held in the Blanding Library on May 23 honoring the newlyweds. Hermit Butt served as best man and the bride was attended by a maid of honor and two bridesmaids. Musical numbers were furnished by Darwin Jones, Lorraine Hansen, Hermit and Virginia Butt, Lynn Wright, Glen and Ted Jones and the groom. guests included Mrs. Helen Alton of Price, Utah, has revealed the mar- riage of her daughter, Donna Louise, to Mr. George A. Jones of Hall's Crossing. Mr. Jones is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alma Jones of Blanding. The marriage took place Monday morning, May 20, in the Salt Lake Temple and a wedding breakfast followed at the home of the groom's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Johnson of Salt Lake City. After a short trip to Nevada and Arizona the couple returned to Blanding. Out-of-to- Mrs. Alma Tahbo of Polacca, Ariz. , announces the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her daugh ter, Miriam, to Jimmy Tree, of Blanding. A July wedding in Polacca is being planned. The bride-eleis attendct ing Brigham Young University at the present time. Her fiance is a graduate of San Juan High School in Blanding and is enrolled at Utah Technical College in Provo. Mr. Tree is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Tree, former residents of Blanding. He is W'ell known in Blanding and was active in many activities while attending school. wn the mother of the bride, her grandmother Pace and two uncles of Pleasant Grove, Utah. Glen and Ted Jones of Salt Lake City, Bob Jones of Provo, brothers of the groom were also in attendance as were their families. Installed as President for the coming year was Mrs. Helen Redd. Her vice president is Mrs. Fern Richie with Billie Berry as Secretary, Vera Park as Historian and Reporter, and Glenda Woods and Jane Milner as Program Committee members. Following installation a musical program was held with Randy Muhlstein performing on the trombone and John McKea giving some violin numbers. The June meeting will be held in the Monticello Library with Mrs. Richie as hostess and the Tikonis Club as special guests. Mrs. Rena Knudson of Price, president of the Eastern District of Federated Women's Clubs of Utah, will be the guest speaker as well as Mrs. Ruth Drake, past president. These adies will speak on 'Tedera-tio- n for Women. " to hold largest commencement there. The Queen and her attendants will reign over the Canyon-lan- ds Rodeo to be held in Moab on June 14-1- 5. The Queen will receive $50. 00 and each attendant will receive $25. 00. The tryouts will be held this Sunday at 4 pm at the Rodeo Arena in Moab. . Candidates must be between the ages of 16 and 22 and not married.
