December 12A Emery County Progress, Castle Dale, Utah , 1999 Local seniors celebrate National Doll Month November was National to celebrate the event Sue Jones, director Doll Month and of the Castle Dale Senior Citizens Center, asked local senior citizens to display their treasured dolls. A wide variety of dolls were brought in for all to see. Elaine Jensen proudly displayed a porcelain doll given to her by her parents when she was a child, and also a doll which belonged to her daughter who passed away 38 years ago. Joe Humphrey received the prestigious American FFA Degree. The American FFA Degree is the highest degree to be earned by an FFA member. Only 210 of 1 percent of the members receive it. On the Louisville trip, the students toured the Little Slugger Museum and each received 'a mini bat as a memento of their trip. The par- ticipants traveled to the Churchill Downs where the legendary Kentucky Derby is held, as well as viewed a slide show in the Reflections section and also watched a fascinating Laser show. During their free time, students were privileged to go shopping at the mall. One event featured the guest speaker, Danny Glover, who presented an interesting topic to the students. There was a beautiful fireworks display and the airport closed the runway for the event.
