Show Carbon A Emery Comity Business Review - October Page 20A Variety, selection marks Stewarts Thriftway is a modern, spacious, well stocked grocery store that takes pride in offering a variety of food products at competitive prices to their rural customers in and around Castle Dale. Thriftway is noted for their quality and diverse food products and the Stewart family is no stranger to the rural grocery business as they started in the business many years ago in Roosevelt. Percy and Mark Stewart started Stewarts Thriftway in Castle Dale six years ago. Since that starting date the facility enjoys a new parking lot and a larger variety of non food items. In 1997 Stewarts purchased the Classic Video store which is located inside of the store. With a large selection of videos ..they can also offer copy and fax service. Wayne Huntington is the manager of Stewarts Thriftway in Castle Dale and is excited with the opportunity to serve this areas need with groceries, fresh cut meats, bakery goods, farm fresh produce and now the largest selection of videos in the county with the recent addition of Classic Videos to the store. Because of the economic growth in the area the grocery business was about the same this year as it was in 1996. But economic conditions are expected to improve in 1998 and Wayne and his 40 employees, Roger Swenson, meat manager, Nina Peay, bakery manager, Mark Evans, produce manager, Cheryl ONiel, office manager and Stacey Decker, video manager; are looking forward to a good year. Stewarts Thriftway is especially proud to announce the addition of Nina Peay as bakery manager. The owners and employees 1 997 Stewarts Thriftway are proud of their excellent HOMEMADE bakery products. Stewarts is the only bakery in Emery County offering a wide variety of breads, cakes, donuts and more made from scratch. The bakery accepts orders for wedding cakes that are beautifully decorated by Jerri Goddard. When looking ten years in the future, Wayne commented that they have plans to expand the store by opening up the closed off portion that is not presently in use. We appreci- ate the support we receive from our local residents and are happy to serve Emery County.
