Another trip is set for January. Girls basketball has gotten off to a shaky start, but the Lady Spartans are hoping to add a victory to their record when they play Moab at home on Tuesday, Nov. 22. On Monday, Nov. 28, they will travel. Beat em girls! Jumping into the season with a new coaching staff, the boys basketball team will start off on the road. Their first game will be at Moab on Wednesday, Nov. 23. During Thanksgiving they play at Morgan on Friday, Nov. 25, and at Wasatch on Saturday, Nov. 26. Go Emery! School will not be held on Thursday, Nov. 24 and Friday, Nov. 25 due to the Thanksgiving recess. The Spartan wrestlers will square off on the mat against the grapplers from Carbon on Tuesday, Nov. 29. JV matches will begin at 5 : 30 p.m. The Mr. Emery High contest is on again. Those students who purchased a yearbook for the 1987-8- 8 school year are entitled to a supplement at no additional cost. Our school hosted the volleyball and wrestling meets against Notre Dame. Our teams had a successful day. The volleyball team won two games straight, and the wrestling team also did very well, winning by quite a margin. Trista is the daughter of Randy and Lynne Lake of Emery. Trista participates in athletics at the high school, participating three years in volleyball and track and one year in basketball. She is now a manager for the girls basketball team. In track, Trista was named an academic performer. She has been named to Whos college. son of Will is the Kenn and Lana Kofford of Castle Dale.
