The operation then would prepare those raw products for further processing by other food preparers. Central Utah community leaders in cooperation with the Utah Department of Agriculture, the State Rural Development Department and the Six-Coun- ty Association of Governments already have studied the outlook for a food processing operation. Their study provides a wealth of basic information needed to begin the process of attracting private industry to the area. The next step will be to perform a detailed feasibility study that specifically identified the feasibility study and will help write a detailed business plan. The business plan would help community leaders approach the best potential industries with the specific information those industries will need to make a decision to locate in central Utah. A preliminary report from the consultant will be due in January. The entire project should be compete by March. UP&L also plans to increase its already substantial support of economic development finance this study. Additionally, UP&L will hire an expert consultant in the food processing area. This consultant will assist in the t $ ac- tivities in southwestern Utah. . UP&L has helped form three community committees in Cedar City that have been working to identify community and resources potential businesses that might relocate to the Iron County area. As part of that effort, several businesses and business consultants have visited the area. Now UP&L is proposing that the Cedar City economic development efforts be focused even more. The company will finance a detailed target industry study that will zero in on specific businesses that make the most sense for the area. The artifacts represent material remains left by prehistoric native Americans who date from as early as 3500 B.C. to as late as A.D. 1350. Most of the material is from Five Finger Ridge, a large Fremont village once located near where the state park now stands. The Fremonts at Five Finger Ridge existed there from about A.D. 200 to A.D. 1350. The artifacts being donated to the new park also include remains from several caves and rock shelters excavated by the U.S. Forest Service, Weber State College and the Bureau of Land Management.
