K, The S USC student and Emery High graduate is presently involved in rehearsals for the mainstage musical that the college hopes will become a Southern Utah tradition. "Scrooge will be presented t 5P on Dec. 5 and 6 and then again on Dec. 11 through 13. As an Eagle project, Senior Patrol Leader Travis Coyne enlisted the help of members of Elmo Troop 301 to help him make posters, decorate collection boxes, pass out fliers and collect food for the food bank. The Scouts collected food from Cleveland and Huntington Elementaries and Canyon View Junior High. Barbara Dougherty, food bank supervisor was pleased with the quantity of food that the boys were able to donate for the needy. Craig Nielson asked to be relieved as camporee chairman and the name of Carl Niebergall was suggested. Scouter Randall said 30 Cub tri-sta- ke Scout leaders attended the recent Cub Scout pow wow and that a basic training program will be held in March. She asked that Scouts wanting to sign up for the merit badge pow wow preregister before Dec. 15 in order to line up instructors for the merit badges. Operation Santa is in the process of gathering food, toys, clothing and cash donations which will go to the aid of needy families at Christmas time. The program is under the direction of the Castle Dale Fire Department with Katherine Perry serving as chairman. Already the group has sent out letters soliciting support for Operation Santa. In addition to that, Elmo Scout Troop 301, under the direction of Ray Randall, is conducting a toy and food drive for Operation Santa. The Scouts are working through Ferron and Cottonwood elementaries to collect donations which are secheduled for pickup on Dec. 3. Anyone wishing to contribute to the program may do so at these schools or through the Castle Dale Senior Citizen Center. For information or to make a contribution, call Mrs. Randall or Mrs. Perry at at All donations are needed by Dec. 12. Distribution to needy families will come the following week.
