Show 8A Emery County Progress Wednesday, November Kenny By Larry W. progress editor 26, 1986 Behling is Davis Behling, Ferron, Kenny recently finished the Wilderness Circuit of the Professional Rodeo Association as the first place winner in bull riding competition. The circuits finals were held Nov. 14 through 16 in Mesquite, Nev. where Behling finished first in bull riding. That first place finish gave him enough points to give him top honors for the season In bull riding in the circuit which Includes Utah, Idaho and Nevada. In the finals, the top 15 cowboys in each event entered the competition. The cowboys were then given three chances in their various events. According to Pat Behling, Kennys mother, the toughest competition came in bull riding years top bull rider where the top three cowboys entering the finals were just a few points from each other. She said Kenny was sitting in third place coming into the Mesquite rodeo. In his three rides, Kenny scored a 66 which did not place him, a 68 which gave him a third place, and a 73 In his last performance which gave him a second in that Combined, those points were enough to give him the highest average score and put him into first place. This is the fourth year Kenny has been in the circuit, and 1986 Emery High School. As a Junior and senior he participated in the national high school rodeo. In his junior year he placed fourth in Utah in team roping and finished as Utahs top calf roper as a senior After high school, Kenny participated on several college rodeo teams. He began with Utah Technical College, then moved on to Utah State and d. x ' ,r r & and drama Peer Gwen has been a member of the Rodeo Club, French Club and Symphonic Band. In addition to school activities, Gwen is active in where she is a county ambassador. She is also active in community theater and riding club and has been a member of the CEU Repertoire Ballet. Against Cindy Wasatch Academy, Cindy was high scorer in the game with 14 points although she played just three quarters. She also pulled down seven rebounds, had two assists and three steals while going two for two from the foul line.
