The workshop is the result of a grant from the Lyla Wallace Foundation and PEN America, The grant goes to a writer who has created a project they would like to see funded. Terry Tempest Williams wrote and received this grant that has both a reading and a writing component. The writing component is a workshop taught by Williams and one other writer. This year the guest writer was Michaelene Pendleton, a professional speculative fiction writer from Moab. She wrote the foreword for Boundaries. Students worked for two hours after school for 10 days In February. They were selected for the workshop by their English teachers and librarian Joan Gough. The reading component of the grant ng buys books for the school book club called Readers Anonymous and for the high school library. This group is open to any Interested student. Readers Anonymous meets in the library once a month to discuss the current selection and choose another book to read. Gough is also the advisor for this group. Helping with cost of this year's chapbook and other expenses of the workshop were Incentives for Excellence and the Gifted and Talented Committee, both of Grand County School District.
