The STP Conflict Resolution training is presented to H.M.K. students every year. The STP plan helps students resolve or prevent conflicts from getting out of hand. Knowing how to handle a conflict helps the child to develop an important skill. STP goes like this: STOP - Say stop out loud or to yourself - (most important step). THINK - Think about: staying calm, what the conflict is about, what you want, and what the other person wants. PLAN - Talk and listen and come up with a plan. The teachers at H.M.K. follow' by up reinforcing the STP method in the classroom and on the playground. Each child is given a bookmarker reminding them of the steps of STP. Parents are encouraged to use the STP conflict resolution strategy in the homes with their children. rrsmst Monday topping Tuesday Cheese Ravioli, salad 6" Pizza with 1 & garlic bread YVednesday Burrito or Faco, beans & chips Thursday & Sandwich Soup Fridaysalad oj h3 Lasagne, & garlic bread 3 Squatters, Wasatch & Uintah on Tap Guinness Stout on Draught Wine 4 spirits menu available upon request State Liquor Licensee Comer of Main 259-601- & 100 N. 8 THE BIBLE IS RIGHT GODS ONLY CHOICE-- 2 of Christ Last week we began to notice that God's Only Choice is the church ESTABLISHED by Christ. Christ's church did not break off from any existing church, but was, in fact, the ORIGINAL church of the New Testament. Jesus said in Matthew 16.18, "And upon this rock I will build my church." In this passage are several reasons for being a member of that very church that Christ Himself established. One of the reasons it is called the church of Christ is because Christ is its FOUNDER. Christ's church was founded in Jerusalem on the first day of Pentecost after the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. The record of its beginning is in Acts Chapter 2. On that occasion the Gospel of Christ was and the people had preached (vv. their consciences pricked and asked what to DO to be saved (v. 37). They were told in plain and simple terms what to do (READ verse 38). Those who gladly received the WORD were baptized (v. 41). At that point they were SAVED and ADDED to the church (v. ), 47). call your Citizens Yellow Pages representative TTT&fc tion u The Moab church Don't Let tance programs lack. The relationship that develops between the client and the mentor is a critical part of each w Omans support system. -- Ron Allen Consulting Services, Inc. k out-of-pock- Seekhaven joins forces with Workforce Services to launch mentoring program What or whose church were they added to? Certainly not to any denomination such as Lutheran, Episcopal, Presbyterian, Baptist, Methodist, Mormon, Catholic, or Assembly for God. Why? Because, as we saw in our last article, none of those churches existed at that time. The people on the Day of Pentecost were saved and added to the very church about which Christ Himself said, "I will build" (Matthew 16 18). If people do the same thing today (to be saved) that the people did on the Day of Pentecost, they will be added to the SAME church that Christ built (cf Eph. 3.6). . "The seed is the WORD of God" (Luke 8 11). This PURE seed will produce the same thing today that it produced on the Day of Pentecost - i.e., a Christian - NOT a Baptist, Mormon, Catholic, etc. If the seed produced people whose only church affiliation was the church Christ established, why will that same seed (Word ) not produce people today whose only church affiliation is the church that Christ established 7 Matthew chapter 16 verse 18 also teaches that Christ is the FOUNDA TION of His church! Every church started by man is based on some distinctive doctrine, some particular practice, some form of worship, or some system of government. The foundation of the church of Christ is a solid rock, Christ Himself (cf. Matthew ). Paul wrote, "For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ" (1 Corinthians 3.11). Thus, the ROCK foundation on which Christ established His church is NOT the apostle Peter but the confession Peter made: "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God" (Matt. 16.16). If Christ is not the Son of God, there is no basis for the existence of His church. Paul said, "But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ is not risen, then is our preaching vain and your faith is also ButChrist vam"(l Corinthians 15 has been raised from the dead and has been "declared to be the Son of God with power" (Romans 1 4). Peter said, in quoting the prophet Isaiah, "Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious. And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame" (1 Peter 2.6). Members of Christ's church can be absolutely sure that Chnst is the Son of God and is the only foundation upon which to build an acceptable relationship with God. The church is said to be OF Christ because He is the ROCK, its ONE and ONLY foundation (cf. 1 Corinthians 10.4). To be continued .. Please SEARCH THE ABOVE SCRIPTURES and see whether these things are so (Acts 17 II) You are invited to attend any of our assemblies at 456 Emma Blvd. (Sunday: 9 a m., 10 a m., and 6 p m.; Wednesday: 7 p.m.). The churches of Christ are neither Catholic, Protestant, nor Jew. We teach only the Bible, and "the Bible ONLY makes Christians ONLY and the ONLY Christians."
