In addition to the bonus bids, the sale netted $2,856 in first-yea- r rentals and $450 in administrative fees, for a grand total of $321,861 in revenues from this lease sale. The State of Utah will receive 50 percent of all moneys collected on the leases from this sale, in addition to any rentals paid per acre annually for the life of the leases (up to 10 years) or any royalties paid to the U.S. Government if a lease becomes productive. A total of 83 parcels was offered, totaling 143,235 28 acres of land under the jurisdiction of the BLM. Nine of these parcels are within the Manti-L- a Sal National Forest, located in Sanpete County, and are administered by the U.S. Forest Service. Bids ranged from the minimum of $2 per acre to $575 per acre and averaged $167.57 per acre. PacifiCorp has announced that Terry Hudgens, currently President of Texaco Natural Gas, North America, based in Houston, Texas, has been appointed as Senior Vice President of Power Supply. The appointment becomes effective on April 1, 2000. Hudgens will be responsible for the company's Power Generation, Wholesale Sales and Mining businesses. He will be based in Portland, Ore. and will report directly to the Chief Executive of PacifiCorp, Alan Richardson. Commenting on the announcement Alan Richardson said: "Terry is an accomplished executive with a strong track record in operations, business develop- ment and management... Hudgens has spent the majority of his career with Texaco in both operational and management positions. Most recently he has been responsible for all aspects of Texacos North American natural gas and worldwide natural gas liquids business downstream of the wellhead. |
