Show UTAH NATIONAL GUARD With it 1962 ummer encampment encamp-ment history, the Utah National Guard ha turned it attention to the return home of the 1,600 men called to active duty almost a year ago. All of the activated unit will arrive at their Utah armorie between be-tween August 5 and 14, according to Maj. Gen. Maxwell E. Rich, Utah Adjutant General. Gen. Rich and hia ataff are shaping plans for welcoming wel-coming ceremonies in Salt Lake City and the other cities where the returning guardsmen hail from. Salt Lake unit returning will include XI Corp Artillery and the 1st Target Acquisition Battalion, 140th Artillery, which were stationed sta-tioned at Fort Hood, Texas; the I 5th Ordnance Co. and the 369th Ordnance Co. atationed at Ft. Lewis, Lew-is, Wash.; and the 144th Evacua- tion Hospital, stationed at rort Leonard Wood, Mo. Families, friends and relatives in the Murray, Hebcr, Vernal and Too ele areas will welcome member, of the I I 5th Engineer Battalion when it arrives. And the citizens of Springville will have a big welcome mat out for their citizen-soldier of the I 1 6th Engineer Light Equipment Equip-ment Co. Both of these outfits were stationed at Ft. Lewis, Wash. The units will arrive in Utah over a period of several days. There will be no special troop train or special flights, Gen. Rich added. Their arrival will depend upon each units release date. Some men will arrive early as they will take their leave time. Those with no accrued leave time will, of course, arrive later. |
