Show tEfre Page B4 Thursday, April 29, 2004 tUtmcg-ftfrepettbe- nt Acquisition of Lisbon Valley gas plant by Canadian company reported and the Gulf Tom Brown Inc., a Denver based company, which owns the gas plant located in Lisbon Valley and employs approximately 50 area residents, has agreed, as of April 15th, to be acquired by the EnCana Cor- acquisition. At this time, EnCana is attempting to purchase a majority of the common stock shares in order to move forward with the purchase. North is EnCana Americas largest oil and gas explorer and one of the leading explorers in the world, with an enterprise value of approximately $25 billion. This will be the largest purchase for EnCana since its creation in a 2002 merger of two Canadian energy companies. EnCana is optimistic about Tom Browns gas fields in the Rocky Mountain states, where they already own properties. EnCana also operates in the North Sea, Ecuador, the poration. The Board of Directors of Tom Brown has unanimously approved the transaction, and the deal is scheduled to close on or around June 1st. Tom Brown has several properties in Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and Texas. EnCana is based in Calgary, Canada and will pay approximately $2.7 billion for Tom Brown Inc. Fire destroys historic JENSEN cabin at Upheaval orthodontics Bottom, NPS reports specializing d fire at Upheaval Bottom along the Green River in Canyonlands National Park destroyed a historic cabin on April 20. The fire was. possibly caused by a group of river users. The simple dugout cabin, which served as a line camp, was thought to have been built in about 1930 by Arthur Murray, longtime owner of the Horsethief Ranch.
