The body of Andrew York, 5, was tound Saturday in the river near Negro Bill Canyon, about three miles down river from the area where he disappeared on June 22. Grand C'ounty Search and Rescue personnel and National Park Service rangers located York at 9:55 a m. Saturday. His body was transported to the Utah State Medical Examiner's Office for positive identification. According to the Grand County Chief Deputy Doug Squire, York was placing near the shoreline at Big Bend Recreation Area. 7 miles northeast ol Moab. last Sunday when he became caught in the current and pulled into the river. The boy's parents, Devin and Nannett York, and an older sister were nearby. Grand County Search and Rescue volunteers and NPS rangers conducted daily searches by boat, and divers combed the river near Big Bend to locate Yorks body. The pilot and three children received minor injuries. The pilot walked away from the crash and was able to get a ride to Castle Dale, where he called 911. An ambulance from Huntington was dispatched to the location and a Utah Highway Patrol helicopter responded as well. The helicopter landed at the site to transport the children to the ambulance. Brigham City Facing the fifth year of drought, Box Elder Countys dry mountainsides are prime targets for fire, according to fire marshal, Greg Martz. He said that Utah had 15 lightning caused fires last week and three of those occurred in Box Elder County. At this point we are very receptive to incoming storms, he said. He urged residents to be extremely careful in their use of fire during the upcoming holidays. The catch is the taxpayer must agree to a $89.9 charge to a credit card. The IRS reminds residents that no person or organization can speed up the payment of federal income tax benefits.
