This would also reduce waste, pollution and contamination, and conserve our natural resources. We could While there are environmental benefits derived Lfrom an expanded housing area recycling program, a 1996 Financial Management Directorate found curbside recycling to be very expensive compared to the small benefits that would be gained. The recycling center is located near the BX and Com- missary to make it convenient for housing residents to drop off items as they shop in those areas. The center accepts aluminum cans, newspaper, plastics, cardboard and tin cans. At Hill AFB, both environmental and economic factors are monitored on a continuing basis, and these changing factors influence decisions. For more details, call the recycling manager at Ext. When you call Ext Child care calculations have a question concerning the new category added for Childcare on base and how total household income is calculated to determine your category. When they calculated my household income, they included my Basic Allowance for Subsistence and Basic Allowance for Housing. I thought BAS and BAH covered rent and subsistence, not childcare. Using this system, a member living on base with the same base pay and no BAS or BAH wouldnt have that extra income calculated, ending up with a smaller household income and possibly keeping them out of the added category. In my opinion, only base pay should be used to determine pay cate(l nt , , ments will be recorded and staffed through the agency responsible for action. The Child Development Center follows Air Force guidance derived from the Military Childcare Act when calculating total annual family income. Under this guidance, total family income includes quarters subsistence and other allowances appropriate for the rank and status of military or civilian personnel, whether received in cash or in kind. If a family lives e in the local area, the leave and earnings statement for BAS and BAH amounts is referred to for inclusion in totaling family income. For families living the 2000 Basic Allowance for Housing II (BAH-II- ) is used to calculate a dollar figure for subsistence in kind. As a result, the calculations are equivalent whether the family lives on or want to recognize Steve Penhorwood at the Sports Loan office for his outstanding service.
