Show Concentrate illegal affairs before deploysn A special POA gives your agent the authority to do one or more specific acts. For instance, you can authorize 'your agent to sell your house, enroll your children in .... school, cash paychecks, etc. While a special POAis more limited than a general, it does not have the same degree of risk and are generally more widely accepted than general POAs. For instance, the finance office will not accept a general POA, but they will allow your agent with a special POA to make changes to your military pay. In deciding which type of POA you need, you should not give away any more power than is absolutely necessary. For instance, if you only need your agent to pay your bills in your absence, you should give a special power of attorney for that purpose. You should also make sure that you give your POA to an individual you trust. To get a POA, come by the legal office anytime between 7:30 and 11:30 am. Monday through Thursday. by Capt. David E. With that awesome responsibility comes the reality that many of our active duty members are going to deploy to locations around the globe." Will " r. youbeready? If you are deployed, the job you will be asked to do will require your utmost attention, concentration, and effort and it is important that your legal affairs wills, powers of attorney, life insurance, pending civil suits, etc. are in order so you can concentrate on the task at hand. How you want to pass along your estate or who you want to give a power of attorney to are serious questions and ones that should not be answered hastily. Since you will probably want to spend the precious time before you deploy with your family rather than with the folks in the legal office, we encourage you to think about your legal affairs and take care of them NOW before you : receive your orders. The disposition of your estate upon your death, while unpleasant to contemplate, is something to which you should give serious consideration before you deploy. That is not to say however, that a will is required before you can deploy or that everyone needs a will. Col. A.E. Smith from the 75th Support Group. He has only been on base for a few months and in that short time has stepped up and addressed the safety issue of busing children in the housing area to and from North Davis Junior High School. He took swift and positive action, ensuring the safety of all the children on base who had to walk to and from the junior high. His actions have helped lessen the fears for our children's safety. My husband and I can now concentrate on other things knowing our children are cared for and safe. We're pleased that our children are out of harms Lway for the moment, as we have arranged for gov ernment buses take the children to school. Several organizations had to work together to come up with an acceptable solution, and Smith was the catalyst that brought the Transportation office, legal office, Security Forces personnel, the school district and the parents together to ensure the safe transportation of our kids. We couldn't have done it without their help. The safety of our children is a top priority and I will continue press this issue. . . : r ACTION LINT: is, your opportunity to make Hill AFB a better place to live, work and play. or send .When you call Ext. to "ACTION." your comments will be ail 00 recorded and stalled through l lie agency Please give your !
