The Little Devil Wrestling is being run this year by Coach Durfee and is sponsored by the Moab City Recreation Center. Who can join? Any boys from kindergarten to 8th grade. When is it being held? The elementary grades meet from 5:30 to 6:30 Monday through Thursdays. The Middle School grades meet from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. All wrestling practices are held at the high school in the wrestling room. It is not too late. Parents can bring their boys in and sign them up at the times listed above. Some Little Devils have gone to in- - a Gunnison, tournament and nine of them came home with medals. Medal winners were: Jeff McElhaney, 1st; Anthony Alvey, 2nd; Colby Means, 1st; Tyler Carver, 3rd; Jarvis Robison, 1st; Brian Cresto, 2nd; Kevin Lopez, 3rd; Nuggett Shupe, 3rd; and Cory Foy, 1st. At the banquet, awards were given for 25 hours and 100 hours of service, and certificates were given tqyvnrk stations and to members for two and three years of service. Lodging and classroom sessions will be at Pack Creek Ranch, 6,000 feet elevation, a country inn that has modernized cabins and a shared private bath. Seminars will include, "Anasazi Indians: Life in Canyonlands 1,00 years ago," by Rich Valdez, and "The Arid Heart: A Literary History of the Colorado Plateau," by Michael Cohen. Elderhostel is an educational program for older adults who want to continue to expand their horizons and to develop new interests. There is not a lot of time left, so everyone who wants to wrestle should come out as soon as they can. Even if a boy does not have any practice time, they are still invited to come out and participate in the tournament on the 18th. The support of parents is needed. Saturday Come to Emporium BACK FROM OREM Dick and Lena Stocks traveled to Orem last week to attend funeral services for Lena's brother, Don Winners in hat contest . . . "Hats off to RSVP Volunteers" was the theme of the third annual recognition banquet held at the civic center March 9, under the direction of Gwynith Parriott. A hat contest resulted in the above winners, from left, Donna Day, for the prettiest hat, Lynn Day, for most original hat, and Ethel Eastlack for funniest hat. Donna's hat featured a garden of silk flowers, set off with tulle. Lynn's was a headpiece of red chile peppers, and Ethel's featured a straw hat, cake pan, fronds, bows and walnut shells, all set off by a Hawaiian scene dress. Present was Carolyn Randall, executive director of the GrandSan Juan Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She announced that she is in charge of the National Hats Off to RSVP Volunteers program, and that Moab's luncheon was the first nationally. Who are all those little guys out flopping around on that wrestling mat? Well, they are a lot of little guys, and some that are not so little, with a lot of energy, who want to Utah-ta-wres- ( Licensed and Insured Plumbing Contractor Call: Little Devil wrestling in action The follow-u- p Neighborhood Meetings promised at the Town Meeting earlier this year continue Thursday, March 16, at 7 p.m. in voting districts 1, 3, and 11. The district 1 meetings will be held in the Judges Chambers at the Courthouse and at the High School. In district 3 the meetings will be in the Lee Chamberlains' home at 814 Mountain View, and at the Holiday Haven Club House. The district 1 1 meeting will be at the Moab tian Center. Successful meetings were held last week in districts 2 and 4. Next week, meetings will be held in districts 5 and 10 on Wednesday, March 22. Meetings will be held in Castle Valley, Elgin, and Thompson at a later date. Check local news media for locations. Sponsors invite residents to come talk with their neighbors about the kind of town they want to live in.
