Diane Carroll gave a program on nostalgia. She brought past year books in for all to look through, which brought memories of the good old days to mind. Laughter was shared by all at the thought of things they used to do. Also discussed were plans for a Spring Rush for new members. Mylene Snow was delightfully surprised by her sorority sisters with house warming gifts to brighten up her home. Also, receiving a welcome home gift was Director Sylvia Grand High School news happenings . . she has returned home from visiting her brother in Australia. Winning first and second place as the best costume as punk rockers were Pat Stewart and Jana Smith, both received a prize. In attendance were six members, four pledges, and one guest. The next meeting will be on March 19 at the home of Mary Rolling with Mylene Snow as Bqta Sigma Phi would like to thank Alpha Rho for hostessing the Friendship Tea. The evening was very entertaining and the refresh-menLevering, Alpha Upsilon Prepared by the Journalism Department at Grand County High School -r- games, sets and matches. This season a grand total of 22 boys are out playing on the courts, which is a giant increased compared to previous years. Though many are no comparison to Mcenroe, Lendel or Conners yet, the team has much confidence in itself against other schools such as Green River, Monument Valley, Monticello and Montezuma Creek. VISITING FROM DURANGO Eleanor Hermes was pleased to Kenneth have her brother-in-laHermes and wife Martha from Durango, Colo, visit her over the weekend. While here they took a trip with Eleanor to Lake, Powell, going by way of Hanksville and returning by way of Blanding back to Moab. TTiey took the ferry boat from Bullfrog to Halls Crossing and they remarked how Bullfrog had built up and what a beautiful trip-thscenery couldnt be more beautiful. The Hermes visit in Moab quite often. Senior David Tatton said, We have more experienced players than last year and I think were going to have a good year. Plus, the singles should be strong. David Beason We have more class this said, we have better players. since year, Freshmen Shawn Beijan, a first year tennis player, answered, I think its fun and we should do well because were classy. After school practices have so far revealed some of the top players such as Paul Chacon, Joe Cline, Marvin Lewis, David Tatton, Zack Peck, to just name a few, and the secret to staying and being on top of the list is to practice lots and know the skills and tricks to it, ahd to hit the ball to the right place at the right tilne. Overall the team looks classy this year and should do well in every aspect. ARE HERE! 1986s MR. by Annette Stewart This years Mr. and Miss G.C.H.S. are Paul Stewart and Beverly Shupe. Winning votes of many seniors, these two were chosen to represent the 1986 class. Mr. and Miss GCHS have no obligations or responsibilities, being chosen is just simply an honor. To me, Beverly Shupe said, being elected as Miss GCHS is a great honor and privilege. I would like to thank my fellow classmates for making our last year of high school the best ever! Beverly enjoys most sports, but her two favorite are volleyball and skiing. She also enjoys the outdoors; hunting, fishing, and camping. During high school she has- - participated in pep club, prom, and homecoming activities. For the past three years Beverly has been a cheerleader and she was presented as the 1986 Winter Homecoming Queen. In the future she would like to go to college and afterwards find a good job. Paul Stewart, senior class also feels that it is an honor to be elected as Mr. GCHS. He said, Its groovy! It is nice to Paul know that you are liked. enjoys hunting, fishing, baseball, and women. He also likes to go camping and ride motorcycles. When it comes to school activities Paul takes part in baseball, band, and student council. He would like to go to a college and major in welding and matalurgy.
