Gigantism has overtaken the holiday movie season. ; Danish director Lars von Trier's hospital ghost story, "The Kingdom," which clocks in at 279 minutes, has just opened in Seattle. Martin Scorsese's mobster movie, "Casino," is playing in the multiplexes. Claude Lelouch's "Les Miserables," which also takes three hours to digest, is continuing its run. Two more three-homovies DEC. 13: "Sense and Sensibility." Ang Lee, Taiwanese director of "The Wedding Banquet" and "Eat Drink Man Woman," takes on an project: Emma Thompson's adaptation of the Jane Austen novel, starring Thompson, Hugh Grant and Alan Rickman. Sydney Pollack is the executive producer. DEC. 15: Oscar-nominat- n, Oliver Stone's "Nixon," which runs about as long as Stone's "JFK." In the interests of equal time, perhaps? Other demanding fare that's scheduled to arrive before New Year's: Emma Thompson's adaptation of Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility," and new treatments of a couple of Shakespeare heavyweights, "Othello" and "Richard III." Theater owners are less than certain that this is what the public had in mind for the holidays.
