Show Page A2 THE DAILY HERALD, Provo, Utah, Friday, September 17, 1999 Missouri overrides veto on abortion Lack of a date creates critical conditions As part of my job here at The Daily Herald (motto: The Other 'Church News"), I go to a lot of plays and movies. Thia is a great thing to do for a living, of course, and I'm grateful to have the opportunity to see "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" over and over again, as it makes me feel as though I've read the Old Testament. You'd think all these shows would be a great dating oppor"great" being defined tunity but it has its drawas "free" backs. For example, what if I've already been on a date with practically every girl I know and all parties involved have agreed that it would be best if I not ask them out again? What if some of these girls have even made this point via restraining order? I still have to go to the shows I just don't have anyone to take with me. With the movies, it's OK. Detton believes his firm's communications may have expedited the cabinet's decision to stop giving waivers. BYU President Merrill J. Bateman said he thought there was a chance the cabinet would look at the issue Thursday, but didn't necessarily expect a decision this quickly. The condo door was forced open at the scene, but burglary may not have been involved. There were items within the residence that normally would have been taken if the fire were set to cover a theft, like a purse containing money hanging on the door knob. Police are patrolling the units. A unit next door sustained suspicious fire damage just two days earlier, according to Perez. Police are asking residents to report any suspicious activity.
