All-St- Geertsen Sr. , a professional golfer who taught Johnny Miller and the late Tony Lema, died Saturday at the Hospice of the Central Coast in Carmel Coast, Calif., at the age of 83. The cause of the death was not disclosed. Geertsen, a nativeof Utah, spent 24 years as the head professional at the San Francisco Golf Club. He retired from there in 1972. He won the Colorado Open and the Bing Crosby National Pro-ADriving Championship during his playing career and invented the Cobra putter, the forerunner of today 's popular center-shafte- d models. Geertsen is survived by his wife; a brother; two sisters; a son and daughter; eight greatgrandchildren and grandchildren. Memorial services were scheduled today in Pacific Grove. m TRADE IN WORKS: - SALT LAKE CITY The Utah Jazz were the perfect host to the 43rd Annual NBA game this past weekend and what better way to wrap up the festivities than with a Western Conference win and awards to the Jazz' own Karl Malone and John Stockton. David Robinson was the man for the West in the second quarter as he poured in 10 of his 21 points to help extend the West lead to 57-5- 2 at the half.
