Leavitt has been decorated with the Army Achievement Medal which is awarded to soldiers for meritorious service, acts of courage, or other outstanding accomplishments. He is a squad leader at Fort Bragg, N.C. He is the son of Yon G. Leavitt and Beverly J. Leavitt, both of Payson. - FORT DOUGLAS Kenneth B. Merrell, 22, son of Norman Merrell and Donna J. Powell, both of Naples, enlisted into the U.S. Army for four years, an Army .spokesman announced. Merrell entered through the Army's Delayed Entry Program and will depart for active duty in April. He will complete basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. His specialty in the Army will be as a linguist. Merrell will receive a $4,-(Xenlistment bonus. Merrell graduated from Uintah Hinh School, Vernal, in June 1987. He was recruited by Sgt. Kenneth Mustafago of the Provo Recruiting Station. Clarin of the Provo Recruiting Andrew G. Urbanik, of Provo, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force's Delayed Enlistment Program recently, according to Sgt. Dan Campbell, Air Force recruiter, of the Provo recruiting office. Urbanik, a 1987 graduate of East Carbon High is scheduled for enlistment in the Regular Air Force on April 27. Upon graduation from the Air Force's basic training course, he is scheduled to receive technical training in the Information Management Specialist Area enlistment option. Urbanik will be earning credits toward an associate degree in applied sciences through the Community College of the Air Force while attending basic and other Air Force technical training schools. Heisterman entered through the Army's Delayed Entry Program and will depart for active duty in April. He will complete basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C., and advanced training at Fort Gordon, Ga. His specialty in the Army will be as a combat signaler. ' Heisterman graduated from Heber City High School. He was recruited by Sgt. Kent Clarin of the Provo Recruiting Station. - Army Cpl. Students were taught practices and techniques of construction surveying, drafting fundamentals, and the use and care of drafting and surveying equipment. Tischner is the son of Mr. and Mrs. AlanG. Tristan Gonzalez has graduated from a helicopter repair rived for duty at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho. er course at Fort Eustis, Newport News, Va.
