Show ROBBERS MAKE BIG HAUL HERE SUNDAY MORNING Burglars battered open a safe belonging to the Union Drug Co. of Bingham early Sunday morning. They obtained approximately $1,-700 $1,-700 after hauling the safe 10 miles out of town. The battered safe was found one mile off U-I I I by Bingham Police Officer Jerte Lopez and Suit Lake County Deputy Sheriff Paul La-Bounty. La-Bounty. Bob Jimas, owner of the drug store, reported the burglars ransacked ran-sacked his office, scattering insurance insur-ance policies, receipts and prescriptions prescrip-tions on the floor. Chief of Police Boyd J. Ncrdin said the burglars also entered the nearby Centre Market, taking approximately ap-proximately $50 in cash, and reported re-ported the burglars had pushed the store's safe to the front door. In both instances, the burglars used a crowbar to pry locks from the front door. Chief Nerdin said the Union Drug also housed the Utah State Liquor store but losses could not be determined until an inventory is made. Officer Lopez discovered the break-in shortly after 7:00 a.m. Sunday whilo making his regular rounds. He said the sa,fe nparently was taken out the front door and loaded in an automobile and taken to a little traveled area where is was forced open. Checks and customer cus-tomer account tickets were found scattered on the ground where the thieves had emptied the safe. |
