Hailstones Animal Inn, located between the two Springville exits, is the ideal way to provide board for "Very Important Pets" when home care isn't possible. Steve and Lil Hailstone, owners of Hailstone Pets, 1230 N. 378 W Provo, have taken initiative and combined it with five acres off to create a new approach to pet care. "A kennel is a place you raise animals," says Steve. "This is a pet inn; a pet motel. There's no cages here only rooms." The Hailstones have nursed the idea of having the inn for five years. Three and a half years ago, they began the work on the building. "At that time," Steve points out, referring to the water now surrounding three sides of the "there was only lush The water came a year later and along with it, a lot of hard work. The Hailstones decided to fight the water which threatened to destroy their dream. "We started dyking," explains Steve. "We had faith we could conquer the water situation... and we have. My boys, Andy and Chris and I, just" kept building wider and higher. We kept at it." Steve believes desire is half the battle. "You can do anything, anything, you really want to do," he assures, "and I believe if you're do the best going to do it and do it right." This statement is indicative of the attitude which has helped the Hailstones settle successfully in Utah Valley. As newlyweds, the couple came to the area without a dime. They settled in Provo because it was halfway between their two sets of parents Since those early days, the family has been involved with animals, bringing 30 years of experience with them into their new ventu re. It was this same experience that enabled them to see the need for an animal boarding facility in the area, "People were continually calling the store (Hailstone Pets), or bringing their pets b; for us to keep for a period of time." This need was the source of the pet motel idea. They wanted to be able to offer an alternative to the ordinary boarding "house." The family has built and designed the motel from the ground up. "I learn as I go," Steve says with a smile and comments on the help that people in the area have given so willingly. "People have been so good to us." During a tour of the inn, Steve Care displays some of the more intricate aspects of the actual building such as the convenient sanitation system, the windows built for solar heating, the ventilation devices, insulated walls doors and the ultra-viollight employed to help kill germs. The Hailstones decided to do away with the standard 3x3 cage used for housing generally dogs, and added an addift. patio onto the formica apartment. Sterilized dishes are located out on the "deck", while the bed linen (imitation lambskin) remains enclosed. The suites for boarding felines are available one, two, even three room apartments or "condos." In addition to the traditional dog and cat housing, Hailstones Animal Inn will have facilities for smaller tional 5 Utah Valley Symphony Guild members by Dr. Barbara Allen Kovalenko, guest piano soloist visiting from California. Morbid Anxiety May Mean Psychological Help Is Needed morbid anxieties about their health even though no organic illness is present are truly sick. They are hypochondriacs. You say you can't afford a therapist. If you can keep running to your doctor with imaginary illnesses, you certainly should be able to see a psychiatrist who can help you find peace of mind and put an end to your living hell. Some insurance policies help pay for psychiatric services. In addition to the therapy, I recommend Recovery, Inc. (Look in your telephone book.)
