A delegation of directors from various Senior Citizen centers throughout the county had asked the commission to consider letting .them use the kitchen so they could submit a bid to take over the nutrition program. Commissioners cited security at 'the jail, plus the possibility that other groups might also want sim- Originally, the Senior Citizen meals program, or "Meals on Wheels," used the kitchen of the old Eldred Extended Care Hospital at Ironton. When that facility was converted to a new County Jail, they prepared meals for both the seniors and jail. County commissioners then turned the nutrition program over to Mountainland Association of Governments (MAG), which let the program out on contract to a private provider. That contract is ilar privileges if they were granted to the seniors.
