Show 1039 CLASS REUNION HELD SATURDAY First reunion of the class of 1939 of Bingham High School was held Saturday night, July 20. The affair was held in the basement of the Catholic Church in Copperton and started at 4:30 p m. This was the first time meeting meet-ing of the class and it brought I wonderful and happy memories. Approximately 45 were in attendance, attend-ance, some coming from far and near. A lovely 'buffet dinner was served tby the committee who included in-cluded Irene Throckmorton, Mary Beth Walker, Agnes Milner, Edna Jacobsen and John Osoro. They were given a big hand of applause ap-plause and a vote of thanks by those in attendance. Eugene Peterson acted as master mas-ter of ceremonies and asked everyone ev-eryone in turn to stand, introduce their wife or hu.-foand and tell a little about their family and themselves. Mrs. Throckmorton sang two songs "My Prayer" and "Poor Little Kate", and Betty Frisch gave an illustrated talk I which was very amusing. Tommy Strelich who was student body president in 1939, came from California to attend the affair and also gave a short talk. Order of business was taken up with Mr. Peterson toeing named chairman chair-man for the next reunion which will be held in 1959. Named as his co-chairman were Pat Sturgill, Stur-gill, Virginia Watkins, Lucille Bianchi, Raymond Marks and Sid Tregaskis. Dancing followed with plenty of picture taking. A telegram was received from Sher-rill Sher-rill Overson from Louisana wishing wish-ing everyone well and also regretting re-gretting he couldn't make it. The 1939 reunion committee wishes to thank the Catholic Church for the use of the hall and the LDS Church for the use I of their music and loudspeaker. |
